How long have you been a member at 1020?  5 Months

Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: I was super nervous, I remember walking in and seeing everyone laying on the ground after the workout, and thinking oh my gosh what did I get myself into.  After they all caught their breath, everyone came up and introduced themselves to me, and told me how excited they were I joined.

What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? Since joining 1020, I have been able to actually see muscles.  Like I never thought I would be able to see the muscles in my arm.  I have also been able to accomplish double unders, and do a 105 clean and jerk.  I also got the benefit of getting to workout with some of the most amazing and genuine people who now I can say are more than my friends, they are family.

What are your individual goals? I want to be able to do a handstand push-up, toes to bar, and just want to keep pushing myself to become a better athlete.

Favorite moment at 1020 so far?  There are so many to count, but the one I would have to pick would be the moment I got double unders.  I worked on them everyday for tow weeks after working out, and the day I finally got 26 in a row was an amazing day.  I felt all my hard work was finally proving to pay off.

What do you enjoy  most about the coaching staff at 1020? The coaching staff at 1020 are the most genuine and caring people I have ever met.  They all care so much about helping you get to your personal best.  They don't give up on you ever.  They sometimes have more faith in me than I have had in myself.  They are always there to answer questions when needed, show you an example if you're confused and to push you to your personal best.

Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? Don't be scared or nervous that people are going to judge you if you can't do the workout RX, or you struggle with certain things, it's okay.  CrossFit Ten Twenty is a no judgment zone; everyone there is there to cheer you on.  Also, it's okay to ask for help, that is why the coaches are there.  They won't look at you crazy if you need help.  They like helping you and watching you improve.  It is such an amazing rush when you're in the middle of your workout and you hear people screaming at you to keep it up, and how great you're doing.  CrossFit will change your life; it for sure has changed mine.

Tell us something we don't know about you? I am a part of a group called IRUN4.  Everyone always has that person that says, oh go workout for me, or an extra mile for me.  It's a group for the people who can't go workout or run because of a physical or development reason.  It's a group that you can run, do CrossFit or just do a workout for.  You get a buddy that you can post to about every time you workout to make them feel great.  I have a little buddy whose name is Bennett and he has Down Syndrome, so every time I workout, I post to him to show him he is my inspiration to keep going.
