Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: I have known Dana since our high school days and when she told me she did CrossFit in Edwardsville, I was excited to try it out.  I had been doing CrossFit the last semester of undergrad and figured I would continue it in dental school.  My first day, all I remember is trying to remember everyone's name.

What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? Being able to see an improvement both physically and mentally during the workouts.  I enjoy looking back on wodify and comparing my Olympic lifts and other workouts from when I began.

What are your individual goals? Someday get DUBS.

Favorite moment at 1020 so far?  Signing up for the Open last year and seeing where I compared to everyone else who was competing.

What do you enjoy  most about the coaching staff at 1020? How supportive they are everyday, especially for us morning people.

Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? Take it slow, and give it time.  Change is not something you're going to see overnight but if you keep sticking with it, everything will get easier.

Favorite WOD?  Fight Gone Bad

Least Favorite WOD?   All of them right after I finish.

Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: On my first day, I was kind of nervous because I had never been to a CrossFit class.  It's funny because I had been really skeptical about what a CrossFit class would be like and what it could offer.  I thought that a workout only consisted of a 10-15 minute WOD and that was it.  I used to poke fun at Kyle Mason and say that he spent more time driving to workout than actually working out.  Needless to say I was super wrong, and I couldn't be happier about it.  I didn't realize that there was also a warm-up, a lifting-focused component, a workout, and then a cool-down...summing up to be at about an hour-long workout.  The reason my skepticism is so funny is because on my first day I walked in to find out that we were doing a Hero WOD that included a ton of lifting and about 2 miles of running.  The WOD alone took about 45 minutes.  Hahahaha.  It was an awesome workout and it kicked my ass.  I admit that I am happy that not every WOD is a Hero WOD though...

What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? I've seen so much improvement in my flexibility and overall form for the lifting movements.  Before, I really didn't have a lot of experience weightlifting, so I've come a long way!  I've definitely improved my overall strength and have gained a lot of confidence too!

What are your individual goals? I would like to be able to do a pull-up!  I'm working on it right now, but I'm not quite there yet.

Favorite moment at 1020 so far?  I'm not sure if I have one specific moment...

What do you enjoy  most about the coaching staff at 1020? I love that everyone is really encouraging and not judgmental at all.  All the communication is positive, which makes for a really positive environment!  I also appreciate how eager the coahces are to help me when I'm struggling with a movement.

Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? Don't be intimidated by the workouts.  Everything can be scaled down and you can move at your own pace.  I did the majority of my beginning workouts with a PVC instead of a barbell and I always got a good workout in.

Tell us something we don't know about you?  I am fluent in sarcasm.  Also, I have an identical twin.

Favorite WOD?  Anything with DUBS.

Least Favorite WOD?   Anything with Burpees (also ALL the OPEN workouts)
