How long have you been a member at 1020? Since Mid January
Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: It was 5am class and I had no idea what to expect. I was initially really intimidated and embarrassed, but that went away immediately when the work out started.
What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? I feel so much better all of the time, for the first time in my life I actually enjoy working out.
What are your individual goals? Pull-ups, right now I can almost do 1. My goal is not to scale any WOD because of pull-ups. And Tommy Mac, I have a personal vendetta against Tommy Mac.
Favorite moment at 1020 so far? First time I felt like I kept up with the class for the whole work out.
What do you enjoy most about the coaching staff at 1020? The coaching staff is awesome! The 6am crew wouldn't be what it is without Kyle Mason. It takes a...let's just say special kind of coach to deal with us at 6am. And of course, I never know what pain really was until I worked out with Omar.
Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? Keep showing up! The pain goes away, you'll feel better, and you'll improve faster than you imagine. There are plenty of days I don't want to get out of bed but I'm always glad I did.
Tell us something we don't know about you? I was in the Army for 8 years and lived in Hawaii for most of that time.
Favorite WOD? Either Fight Gone Bad or Dennis' Birthday WOD.
