How long have you been a member at 1020?  2 Months

Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: I was a little apprehensive.  I've been working out since high school, in the military for four years, and previously did a stint as a personal trainer, but CrossFit always intimidated me.  To me, snatches and cleans looked like an excellent way to end up paralyzed and I'm notoriously uncoordinated.  A few weeks earlier, at a tryout to join another unit, there were several soldiers with CrossFit backgrounds and they out-performed most of the other guys there in almost every event.  This was the kick that made me finally give CrossFit a shot.  If you can't beat them, join them, or at least train like them.  My first session working with Coach Brendan, we went over the basics of a lot of the Olympic lifts.  The nervousness was quickly replaced by a motivation to catch up to the other athletes that were tossing around far more weight than I was.  Five minutes into my first metcon, I knew I wasn't going back to doing the same old workouts I'd been doing for three years.

What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? I've improved more in two months than I did in years of working out on my own.  I feel stronger and more coordinated.  It's very hard to get into a rut when the workouts vary so much from day to day.

What are your individual goals? Keep improving.  Learn how to kip...and do dubs.

Favorite moment at 1020 so far?  Getting a 5 minute lesson on muscle ups in my second week of WODs and doing my first muscle up after a workout.

What do you enjoy  most about the coaching staff at 1020?  The coaches are the best I've ever worked with and want you to succeed; but they want to be your best friend as well as your coach.  Ten Twenty is a big family.  You don't get that at Planet Fitness.

Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? JUST DO IT!  Don't be intimidated.  The workouts can be adjusted to anyones' fitness level.  The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and ready to help you.

Tell us something we don't know about you?  I rode a motorcycle on the German Autobahn last summer.

Favorite WOD?  Anything with Cleans or Box Jumps

Least Favorite WOD?  Anything with DUBS...I'm still working on those.
