How long have you been a member at 1020? 3 Months
Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: It was a little nerve wrecking. I've never been an athlete nor have I participated in group workouts. A few minutes into our initial one-on-one, I felt at ease...I knew that this was going to be something I would enjoy. Dana and Brendan are great coaches and motivators.
What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? Not only do I have more energy, but I have more self confidence in my abilities. These workouts are a great end to my hectic day before returning home.
What are your individual goals? There are a few...to reduce body fat, re-build strength in my left knee and quad from a pre-existing injury and to RX a WOD :)
Favorite moment at 1020 so far? Anytime I complete a WOD!
What do you enjoy most about the coaching staff at 1020? Their attitudes! They are the most encouraging people I have ever met - and they laugh with us (and sometimes at us)!
Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? Don't be intimidated! Try it out and watch how fast you fall in love with it. It is really about YOU and not keeping up with or competing against others.
Tell us something we don't know about you? I was my husband's math tutor in high school, but we definitely were not high school sweethearts. We got married in Las Vegas years later :)
Favorite WOD? I love a good hand stand and split jerk - so any WOD with those!
Least Favorite WOD? Well, Burpees are the devil -- so any WOD that has those horrible things.
