Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty. I have visited a lot of Crossfits. When there is not enough space and the class is overcrowded it really takes away from the experience. My first thought upon walking into 1020 was "This place is huge and the class size is small, sign me up".
What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? Strength gains, especially overhead squat. Gained the ability to endure working out in 100% humidity.
What are you individual goals? To win the masters division when I am 70. To become a total beast.
Favorite moment at 1020 so far? Everyday at 6:00 a.m.
What do you enjoy most about the coaching staff at 1020? The focus on proper technique and the fun personalities.
Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? The toughest skill to acquire in Crossfit is the management of your ego. The competitive group atmosphere aspect ofCrossfit is really why Crossfit gets people in such great condition. Don't get caught up in what people around you are doing during a workout. Don't get hung up on where you finished that day on the whiteboard. Focus on proper technique and scale accordingly. Humility is an attractive personality trait.
Tell us something we don't know about you? When i was 19 I lived in a Tipi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipi) in northern Idaho for a year.
