How long have you been a member at 1020? Three Months Now!
Tell us about your first day walking through the doors at Ten Twenty: The first day I walked in it was everything I thought it would be. When I emailed Dana, I was between gyms and was tired of getting kicked out of globo gyms from dropping weights so the first day at 1020 was truly me seeking refuge and I was met with open arms.
What benefits/accomplishments have you seen/had since joining? My aerobic pathways have seen some much needed work. After a year of only oly lifting, my cardio was negligible so my work in metcons had definitely gotten better and even on top that, the support from everyone has pushed me to PR my oly lifts.
What are your individual goals? Continue to PR my lifts all while getting better at metcons and...gymnastics, ugh.
Favorite moment at 1020 so far? The 255 Snatch at the Fall Back Into Fitness event or the hero WOD with Mark with all the farmers carries or flex offs with Brendan.
What do you enjoy most about the coaching staff at 1020? Although I do know a decent amount about weightlifting, I can still get cues that help and I know very little about gymnastics and they can help me sharpen up those things each day.
Words of advice for someone interested in getting started? Love your life or change it. A motto I live by and one everyone should. If you have interest in CrossFit, working out or meeting new people, 1020 will provide the best of all those things. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
Tell us something we don't know about you? I was in a band. A "screamo" band. If you're nice, I might share someday.
Favorite WOD? Any barbell movement except thrusters, unless they are heavy.
Least Favorite WOD? Anything with MU's or HSPU's.
