About Dana:

If you told me a few years ago that I would become a L1 CrossFit coach, I wouldn't have believed it.  After my last collegiate volleyball match, I thought that was the end of sports for me.  For a year or so after that, I struggled with finding a workout regimen that made me happy, showed results, and that kept me interested.  Finally, I was referred by a friend to check out CrossFit Ten Twenty.  Never knew what CrossFit was before that.

After my first day at CrossFit Ten Twenty, I was truly hooked.  I knew this was the motivation that I was missing.  At the beginning of my journey, I'll admit I struggled.  It was frustrating because everybody next to me was beating me in workouts and throwing around barbells like they had been doing it forever.  Learning movements with the barbell was completely foreign to me.  I mean CrossFit was completely out of my comfort zone, but I couldn't help to go back every week to learn more.  That's the fun part about CrossFit, there are always new things to learn and new ways to develop yourself.

Now as a coach, I get to see the progress in other athletes.  I can't explain how proud and the amount of excitement I get when I see new athletes reaching goals such as getting their first pull-up, running their first 400m without walking, or witnessing their faces after a PR.  We are just a big huge family here at CrossFit Ten Twenty that will always support you, motivate you, and of course laugh and have fun with you.
